Intentional Living at it’s Core - Getting Back to Simplicity
Intentional living at its core…
How to get to the fun part, and by fun part I mean joy, contentment and living in the moment. Real fulfilment that fills up most of our days. How does joy help us practice presence? If you want to live for the here and now. I would suggest the best thing to do is find your joy. How do we do this in a world inundated with distractions and easy dopamine hits through social media of other nefarious means.
Here is an easy journal prompt!
Do you remember back to when you were a child. A moment that was so exceptional that everytime you thought of it again it created in you a physiological response? Racing heart, flushed cheeks, uncontrollable laughter - a feeling without boundaries where you feel part of something larger for a moment.
That’s joy.
That’s a time when nothing else mattered but that moment and it was so exceptional that it imprinted on you a lasting memory.
How can we create those moments again and again in our lives and tap into that ethereal feeling of bliss and connection. Welp it’s not too complicated of a puzzle if we take a simple first step - We can create challenges for ourselves that put desires first that ignite those same feelings as a child’s and for this knowing what lights us up is key.
You see, we get to choose our challenges not just fall into them through suffering. We can choose a challenge that reaches a level of simplistic comfort not through prior subconscious behavioral programming - such as dating someone we don’t truly align with over and over, or falling into the family trigger trap where co dependency is the norm. We aren’t choosing these kinds of challenges and they don’t lead us to joy unless we traverse them and forge onto intuitive chosen challenges that ignite this ethereal sense of connection.
Even these challenges thought can feel uncomfortable to traverse, as sometimes we realize that the uncomfortableness in itself is a challenge that ignites desire and in the moment living. But these challenges might also feel uncomfortable because you have been living in a way that doesn’t truly mirror your divine nature as stated before and the doing will be new to your neural circuitry.
This question. - One of the first questions I often ask of someone wanting to grow is - what lit you up as a child? Remembering those experiences can help us touch on habits or expressions long forgotten and it may seem too simple. But dor some it’s quite shocking to realize how hard a practice it is to define these experiences in terms of longings and desires and This is a clear indicator of a time when we haven’t been conditioned to believe we aren’t good enough or our joy just isn’t attainable. Our joy is quite literally the thing that will drive us in life the farthest. Because it is only during these awakenings that we realize the journey truly matters just as much as the end result and that breeds something beyond just happiness or joy. It breeds contentment and no matter what career path or journey you have taken if these feelings aren’t eventually brought forth we are left with regrets later in life and throughout life things just won’t ever feel good enough. the joyous part is where We will revel in every step. We won’t be rushing to get to a place of completion - often the place where we forget to admire our work and we just trudge on to the next best thing and Because the present moment feels so incredibly joyous sometimes it just so happens you don’t want to reach a plateau but that plateau just naturally transpires through the process.
These are also the times you will be creating neural pathways that lite up in patterns that honor your true self - creating a new conscious/subconscious pattern to follow in the future. But let’s keep to the present. What joys and desires have you been stuffing down Every-time a flicker of doubt shows up? Those sleight of hand voices that are ever so subtle in deterring our weird idea to buy some roller skates and start up a new hobby. People will look at me! where will I even skate at? etc etc.
not only does our desire help us navigate being present - We can utilize our intuition to navigate which desires are truly ours.
Intuition is the place where as a child we let drive our actions unabashedly. It’s where we left the critical thinking aside and tapped into an ever present feeling that we recognized at the time was always with us. If you don’t believe me check out Nikola Farmer of Sussex who teaches children to use there intuitive senses to draw and read without seeing anything with their eyes. It was easy back then because not so many logical programs were getting in the way.
Some of you may be wondering - How can we differentiate between our intuition and external subconscious programming that’s not related to our innate divine?
Now in life the narrative is often being played out that feelings should be controlled, submerged or disregarded altogether. I’m here to tell you they are the driver of healthy intuition and tapping into the shadow to challenge those beliefs that no longer serve us.
knowing the difference brings us to what we feel! no feelings are negative. They are just a tool to navigate if we need to clear out external Programming or plan and create based off of a more divinely connected nature.
but this isn’t without us needing to take a critical look at how trauma can be wrapped up in all of this. You see. Just like our physical bodies should be looked at holistically as one function relies or coincides with another so does our spirit body. There is always a balance needed. an assessing and thats why committing to growth with the spiritual should be revered just as much as we do with thr physical. We can eat healthy and clean and exercise which we should all be doing anyways but if we aren’t tending to our spirit certain patterns will keep showing up. Challenges that we haven’t not chosen but fallen into.
Our trauma can play a role in how we react on an intuitive level in a way that doesn’t serve us anymore. Again, to keep it simple. It’s neither good nor bad, right or wrong. It just is.
Feelings - intuition - joy - present moment living. They are coalescing together - like a fine tuned engine at all times and it’s about time we started to take notice and create a life where joy is at the forefront!
