Trust & Intuition

How can we truly trust our intuition in spaces that might be mired with chaos. I believe this lies in duality. I recently encountered an issue with a person that seemed to have a pattern for me on repeat. I knew from the beginning of this encounter that something was off in the way they showed up, but because I was in a vulnerable place trying to shove down another trauma pattern that recently came up, I felt desperate to overshadow it. So now here I am, faced head on with the aftermath of emotions that were created possibly 100 trauma patterns ago. I am realizing that the trust I had in myself was mired by this insatiable need to ignore the feelings. Isn’t that what it mostly comes down to? Us not wanting to feel all the yuck. Even in spiritual avenues we are often told to move on from it, feel it and move on. But how much feeling of it do we need? Feel it too much and you are ruminating. Act out on those feelings and you are considered erratic and unable to emotionally regulate.

Being in a vulnerable place can often cause us to not trust our instincts because we are in a space of desperation. Now if we tackle head on the desperation itself instead of just ‘moving on’ from it we can mitigate our lowered instinctual confidence. What is that saying - the only way through the storm is to charge headfirst into it

When is it ok to sob uncontrollably in a subway? When is it acceptable to throw ourselves to the ground in desperation and howl like a wolf. In nature we see this happening in grown animals all the time. When a mother cow is separated from her baby immediately following the birth in order to provide milk for humans. When a wolf loses her baby to hunters, in the name of preserving livestock.

In the situation I have recently encountered I realized two things, that I could be feeling all the feels at once and within this dynamic my intuition can still be spot on even if trusting it and acting accordingly came a little late. That's ok. That's what prototyping is for. We can use that information and use it for the next situation warranting it happens again, which the universe will reveal in time.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world.”
